C and C Cage Plans

Why C&C cages are good for guinea pigs

As a modular system, C and C Cages make an excellent home for guinea pigs as you can build them according to your (or your guinea pigs) requirements. They can be a simple one storey cage or can include a loft and a lid if required. Size will depend on both the minimum size requirements for the number of guinea pigs you have and also the space you have in your home. You should never build one that is smaller than recommended but you can certainly build a larger one to give them a great space to live.

About Our C&C Cage Plans

If you're simply putting the outer grids together to make a cage then building a C&C cage is fairly straightforward. However, working out the size of the coroplast insert and cutting it correctly can be a challenge for a lot of people, not to mention working out how to construct a lid or loft.

This is why we decided to create some C&C cage plans with full instructions including lots of pictures on how to put it all together. We will be covering lots of different sizes and configurations but have started with one of the more popular sizes which is a 2x4 c&c cage with a lid.

How to Make a 2x4 C&C Cage with Lid

It's important that you buy the correct grids as we've based the coroplast measurements on these specific grids. You can get the grids and coroplast in black or white. Here's what you need to buy for the 2x4 C&C cage with a lid:
